Inspect mass spectra
Almost all commercial chromatography data systems (CDS) have a single display window/view for mass spectra, regardless whether a mass spectrum originates from a detected peak, a user-selected scan or a mass spectrum summed over a region. In OpenChrom separate views are available, which differ according to the origin of the mass spectra. This may be confusing at first but enables a much higher flexibility.
Inspect mass spectra at selected scans
Inspect mass spectra of selected peaks
If peak detection has been applied already the mass spectra of the peaks can be inspected in the view „Peak Mass Spectrum“ or „Peak Mass Spectrum With Label“, which are similar with the only difference that the latter displays additional infos (e.g. RT, abundance) above the graph. Again, it has to be opened or activated if it is already opened in a view stack but currently not active. How to open a view is described here.
Inspect summed mass spectra of a selected retention time window
It is also possible to review a summed mass spectrum covering a user-selected retention time range. This is e.g. useful to examine direct-inlet mass spectrometric data. The appropriate view „Combined Mass Spectrum (Chromatogram Selection)“ has to be opened/activated and the region of interest selected in the Chromatogram Editor e.g. by zooming. The displayed summed mass spectrum is calculated from the retention time window currently displayed in the Chromatogram Editor and updated as the retention time window is altered. How to open a view is described here.
